We have a new passion. Over the past few months we have been hiking some of the biggest mountains in the US and have logged well over 60 miles in doing so. Our ultimate goal is the big one, Mount Whitney, the highest summit in the US with an elevation of…Whoa.…14,505 feet, that’s 23 miles round trip. We have a few hiking buddies from Paramount that go with us. My first hike, Mt. Baldy, was an eight-mile round trip hike. I cried tears and bit my cursing tongue because we were with a group. I could not manage walking up/down stairs for the next two days. I am getting stronger and keeping up with the group, mostly, these days. Two weekends ago we did 13 miles and last weekend we went on our first backpacking trek (14 miles carrying 20-30lbs packs) with an overnight stay in the wilderness. Although we were prepared with our bear canisters, we didn’t see any bears. So much fun!
Climbing a mountain is a natural high!

Summit at Mt. Baldy.

Summit at San Jacinto.

Summit at Ontario Peak.

OUR GOAL NEXT YEAR....MT.WHITNEY!

Wow!! The Williams Family is definitely impressed!!!
What wonders of God you two are seeing out there. We will never be able to top that on our ventures together. Keep the photos coming. Let's see that new place you call home!!!
I'm so jealous of the views yall get to see all the time. We need to start hiking, but there's not too many mountains around here.
